A Festival of Bicycles on Film
Postedy March 2nd, 2006 by 853Yes I know, I already posted this in the forum but then I thought it’s better suited to the front page. Besides then I get to see how this thing works.
Plenty of good bike films here, running from April 6th to April 9th. What a great way to start my well earned three weeks off work.
Highlights (will) include:
A Sunday In Hell – a documentary about the titanic struggle between Eddy Merckx, Freddy Martens, Roger De Vlaeminck & Francisco Moser in the 1976 Paris-Roubaix.
Beauty & The Bicycle – A 20min documentary about Richard Sachs & Peter Weigle. If you don’t know who Richard Sachs is, you should be ashamed of yourself.
Still We Ride – A documentary about the 2004 NYC Critical Mass where overzealous cops arrested riders for no reason, confiscated bikes and generally did bad things.
We Are Traffic – Another CM doco tracing the history of CM
Red Light Go – Another NYC doco about Alleycats
Pedal – Yet another NYC courier doco focussing on the 2005 Cycle Messenger World Champs.
I haven’t seen any of these films before so I’m just anticipating it will be fun. And anything with Eddy in it has to be worth watching. Sucks if you’re not in Melbourne.
