Show n Shine

This summer is set to start with a big shiny bang!!, with a raft of sponsors and supporters, is having its first ever Summer Show n Shine.

The FOA Show & Shine is an evening event of fine bicycles and boutique stalls, situated in a 1920’s converted warehouse in North Melbourne. Enter your bike for $5 per category (see below for categories), win prizes, drink coffee, and peruse interesting stalls.

Hosted at the home of, the Electron Workshop, the evening will be a chance for participants to showcase their pride and joy and check out the best bikes Melbourne (and hopefully other corners of Oz) has to offer. So start building if you’ve got something awesome in the works, start polishing if you’re pride and joy is covered in dust, or start scouring ebay if you want to be a part of the fun!

There’ll be food, drinks, coffee and a whole lot of shiny steel to check out whilst meeting new people, catching up with old mates, and generally having a good time. FYXO will be running his Australian Custom Bicycle Show over in South Melbourne til 5pm, so why not make a weekend of it and head over afterwards for an evening of good times!!

Where: Electron Workshop, 31 Arden St, North Melbourne, Victoria, Australia
When: 1st December, 2012, 4pm-9pm – judging starts at 7.30pm
Info: More info in the forums – important things will be updated here.

Tourer (aka – “The Beardo”) – The Ultimate Commuter, from the clock on the stem top cap to the supple gumwall tyres and mounts for every type of rack imaginable. The “camping holiday” bike.

  1. […] In which Val and Faith wax lyrical about riding in spring, share some bike moments and bike news before turning their attention to the recent Bike Futures Conference in Melbourne. Faith digresses over just a few of the highlights, including the City of Yarra’s successes in stealing space from cars, and then interviews Koen van Waes, Senior Traffic Planner at the city of Den Bosch in the Netherlands, about his project Lekker Fietsen. We wrap up an enthralling show with a quick skirmish with upcoming events. Tune in next week when Roland Cox will our studio guest to chat about Fixed Gear Melbourne’s upcoming Show ‘n’ Shine. […]

What time is the cut off for bike entry? Or are you expecting everyone to enter their bikes by 4PM and stick around till finish?

  3. Nick says:

6.30pm is cut off, but preferably the earlier you get there the better – there is also the chance we run out of room, and coming late may mean you’re not able to enter…
