    Warburton Cycle Fest

For all of your Warburton Cycle Fest questions, discussions, answers etc

My question is, how would one get to warburton with a bike if they don't have a car? (besides riding there)

Nikcee, I'm quite interested in watching you fall over things and run through icy rivers. The "Race to the Sky" sounds quite amazing too.
    Roadtrip anyone?

As a native of the area, one would need to take a train to Lilydale, and then catch a Martyr's bus to Warburton - You can take your bike on the bus. Otherwise, cars would need to be involved...

^ Also the 40km rail trail from Lilydale to Warburton comes highly recommended. (Probably worse than Swanston St on that weekend.)

I would actually be very interested in going up for this. I have roof racks on the car and could take a couple of bikes/people.

It is a pretty sweet ride dude, and would feel short if you had some mates and a goon bag.
I'll drive though. It's pretty much north of my place.

I'm guessing that's probably easier for you to do though.

It's Dylan Time! <--- sometimes NSFW. Seriously. It's getting nicer, but there's still loads of nudity.

Also, will I need a club permit for this stuff?

last year a nice guy was kind enough to ferry me and my bike out there. i wish i could the same thing about the carload of clowns who followed us out there.

we had a great time heckling the MTB class of the Cx race.

i'll be (hopefully) better prepared this year and not blow my start sending myself out the back of the race in the first 10m. ill also bring a towel to dry myself and my bike off after the race as the race features a shin-depth river crossing that cant be ridden.

i'm already looking forward to the school playground obstacles again.

the race to the sky is no joke, i saw the course and its steeeeeep. apparently the best part is the descent back down a nearby trail (which wasnt an event until everyone decided to do it).

i want to see a good showing from all the FOA roadies for the Donna TT!

Damo from COG Cafe and the rest of the organisers are super nice. Even if you arent racing, find a way to get out there (ride out to watch the races) and come support them.

last year you needed a MTBA licence ($15 on the day if not) but i convinced them my CA licence was ok.
