TRON SS winter bike. YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH (new silly project)

after convincing myself to keep my Ti tri frame (again), i got to work making it my SS winter miles bike(for when it is just too shit ride another one of my bikes). i had most of the bits, and after getting a non eccentric axle for my rear hub i put everything on it, ready for the surly chainring ive got coming tomorrow. i even got as far as putting two light mounts on the front...

in realizing that i don't have a rear light i had an idea..........


i had these sitting around (for another silly project). the frame has holes in all the tubes, for (i assume) when it was purged during welding. the only trouble is, they are fucking tiny and 12 cm down the seat tube. i ran some old gear inner as a guide (worked well, only took a couple of minutes of swearing).




it wasn't of much use though as none of the wire i had sitting around would play ball and get through the hole in the seat tube.

then i remembered the dead head phones i had sitting on my desk.
a bit of dodgying with the inner cable 'guide' to make it hold onto the wire, and 20 minutes of swearing with a single strand of brake inner and it came out of the DS seat stay.




so, i have the beginnings of my TRON bike. awesome.

borrowed some of dads army issue forceps, meant i could force wire through nice and deep like, could use proper wire which will be much easier to solder. yay!

waiting on a pcb so i can build the 4s lithium battery pack, haven't got batteries yet, but that should be easy enough. also working a switch so i can have flashing rave party on the back. will solder/heatshrink/hotglue next week so it is good and proper and will be waterproof.

will need to waterproof box, will do this when i get the glue gun off a mate, aswell as attach the lights to the frame not with zip ties.
(i stole the male/female power port from an old handheld game console and its piggyback battery. go me.)
the box was a carrying case for two of the batteries.

3100 mah of 14.8v. waiting on a pcb (Liion batteries don't appreciate being used or charged when in series), and i'll make a battery pack to stuff down the seat post.


modified thomson top clamp, holes need to be slightly bigger, will do that tomorrow.
