Apologise for picking up an old thread.

I've picked up a new frame (Colossi Low Pro - 6061 Alu) and I've been wondering about putting frame saver (fish oil) through it. I know that it's definitely a recommended process for a steel frame, but what about for aluminium? Necessary?

Don't bother.

Aluminum creates an oxide layer that protects from further oxidation

It evaporates after a few months then the steel rusts up worse than ever

I've just pumped a heap of lanolin lubricant spray into a frame. Solvents and carriers dry off, leaves a nice lanolin coating inside. Never seen a rusty sheep.
