Thread: Heavymetal's commuter bike manifesto

  1. #991

Just chucked a Cetma, shimano DH-3N80, and bm light.

Still need to replace the shity stem with a quill, get a better brake lever and rear dyno light.

Yes. Since putting on those DTH tyres I'm gonna have to up-gear it as I spin out faster, they are great tyres.

Should've posted this a while ago:

Voodoo Wazoo (w/ Sliding drop outs, was $25 - big dent on the NDS top tube, sold DS hanger to lemontimes and bent his old taco'd one into shape again). Works fine.
Surly Crosscheck fork ($25, was rattlecanned black, accidentally partially stripped it trying to clean it)
SRAM Force 10 speed RD, also bent (two bent componants apparently works perfectly)
    GX Shifter
    Truvativ SS MTB cranks
    Tektro Mini V's
Hard rubbish wheels (Alex 19mm somethings to deore hubs)
Gusset stash bars w/ shimano levers
    Parts bin everything else
Ebay $10 rack w/ kmart basket
    40c kenda somethings

I ride this bike more than any other that I own - bikefishing, shopping, foofy porteuring, misc travel.

Total cost was about $120 bucks.
