    ETC: looking to learn the new city, do a few social rides and tings

    Yeah so I'm hoping to move soon so kinda looking for what the general vibe is over there. I'm working as a messenger over here and was working as a mechanic for a few years before that. What's the likelihood of me getting a job in either of those fields over there? And is what I've heard true and that you need to have a brake and helmet? Sorry if this isn't the right place for this!

    ^ Hi Aaron, yes, by law you need to wear a helmet while cycling and have at least one working brake. You also need a bell.

    This is all subject to the level of risk you are comfortable with.

    You don't need a brake if you do a practical exam. If you achieve a 'competent' mark or higher in the whip skid section you'll be certified to ride brakeless on the street.
